On Friday, 23 January 2026, the WCO Asia/Pacific Regional Office for Capacity Building (ROCB A/P) participated in an online kick-off meeting with the WCO and Nepal Customs to initiate collaboration on an upcoming Time Release Study (TRS) mission, to be implemented with the support of the Customs Cooperation Fund of Korea (CCF/Korea).
This meeting was the first of its kind under the procedures established by the New Paradigm to ensure effective workshops.
During the meeting, the WCO provided an overview of the New Capacity Building Paradigm and discussed the schedule for the planned TRS mission. The WCO also noted that WCO Accredited Experts are expected to lead key parts of the workshop, including agenda development.
Nepal Customs shared its past experience with the TRS and provided updates on its current preparations for the mission. The discussion demonstrated Nepal Customs’ strong commitment to improving clearance procedures and trade facilitation.
The ROCB A/P also confirmed several logistical arrangements for the mission to ensure smooth coordination among all stakeholders.
Participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to maintaining close and constructive collaboration to ensure the successful implementation of the TRS mission in Nepal. This meeting marked an important first step toward effective cooperation and impactful capacity-building support.
