ROCB A/P has extended its support to newly established WCO Regional Training Center in Cambodia (RTC Cambodia). A meeting came in response to the needs expressed by RTC Cambodia for assistance in enhancing their Regional Training Centre capabilities upon their attendance for their first ROCB / RTC Heads meeting in September 2024.
During the meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand, Mr. Jun Tajima, Head of ROCB A/P and Ms. Aksara Mackhawiman, Assistant Program Manager of ROCB A/P met with RTC Cambodia officials representing Cambodia Customs National School to discuss training management strategies.
During the meeting, ROCB A/P introduced WCO Tool on Human Resource Management, highlighting training processes and course development strategy. The key highlight of the discussion was the insights from studies on Member Practices during the WCO Sub-Regional and Regional Workshops on Training Management conducted in 2024, covered several areas of training, including the training process, development of annual training plans, development of standardized course curricula, and school management systems. Those topics are being consolidated into the Compendium of Training Management in A/P Region as the outcome of these Workshops and additional research activities, and will be presented to the Regional Heads of Customs Administrations Conference in May 2025 in Hong Kong.
As a part of ROCB A/P’s commitment to the Asia-Pacific Region, ROCB A/P continue to enhance WCO Member’s capabilities. The assistance extended to RTC Cambodia is expected to significantly strengthen Regional Training capabilities through knowledge sharing and collaborative development.
